AJAX/PICKERING, April 14, 2014 – Premier Kathleen Wynne’s announcement of $29B for transportation and transit infrastructure funding drew mixed reaction from the Ajax-Pickering Board of Trade today.

“While we are encouraged that the Premier has committed monies from the gas tax and HST revenue to two dedicated, transparent funds for transportation infrastructure, we maintain our position that the current project plan does not sufficiently address Durham Region’s transportation crisis,” said 2014 Ajax-Pickering Board of Trade President Paul Przybylo of Walker Head Lawyers. “We are also waiting for the other shoe to drop regarding additional revenue tools and call upon the government to reveal the entirety of its plan as soon as possible.”
