Making a case for the Harmonized Sales Tax plan

Stuart Johnston, Vice-President of Policy & Government Relations with the Ontario Chamber of Commerce, visited the Board of Trade for breakfast and an opportunity to talk to the business leaders of Ajax and Pickering, June 25.

He spent an hour explaining how the OCC came to support the single sales tax to be implemented in Ontario, starting July 1, 2010.

Big Bike For Heart & Stroke

Board uses pedal power to help Heart & Stroke Foundation

The Ajax-Pickering Board of Trade once again showed its support for the Heart and Stroke Foundation, climbing on board the Big Bike for a ride around Pickering Village. The team started and ended at Safari Bar & Grill where they offered snacks to the hard-working riders afterward.

Chief Ewles Joins Board Members at Breakfast

 

On Thursday, Durham Regional Police Chief Mike Ewles visited the Board of Trade and enjoyed breakfast at the Ajax Convention Centre. It was the fourth time the Board hosted an event in co-operation with DRPS, and the second address by the Chief. 

 

Chief Ewles provided an update on the progress and challenges that Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) has faced since meeting with the Board a year ago.
