Minuteman Press takes Eco-Checklist challenge

Ashmeed Khan, owner of Minuteman Press with locations in Pickering and Oshawa, recently downloaded the Ajax-Pickering Board of Trade's Eco-Checklist and submitted the file to earn a Certificate of Commitment.

APBOT's 2010 President Jason Cameron visited Mr. Khan's Pickering site to present the certificate, with the help of volunteers from the Board's Environment Task Force, Michelle Pongracz and Andrew Ross.

Mr. Khan explained the process was much easier than he expected and it took very little time to fill out the free checklist. For doing so, Mr. Khan's business can now display the certificate of commitment and has a document it can use to track environmental steps the business can take to become even more environmentally friendly.

Mr. Khan, right, displays a sample of the 100 per cent recycled paper stock he has introduced in his operations. He says more and more, clients are asking for environmentally recognized paper, inks and processes when choosing their print products.
