The Ajax-Pickering Board of Trade hosted a breakfast seminar this past Thursday, May 16 on the subject of emergency preparedness at Al Dente in Pickering. There was a strong turn out to hear subject matter experts provide worthwhile advice to the business community on prudent and tangible steps that can be taken to facilitate business continuity and recovery in the face of an emergency. Line Millette of the Durham Region Emergency Management Office, Mark Knutson of Ontario Power Generation and Judy Crawford of Huron Chamber of Commerce – Goderich, Central and North Huron all shared their considerable knowledge on the subject.

Port Restaurant put on a lovely spread of hors d'oeuvres.

On Tuesday May 14th, there was a fabulous turn out to APBOT’s latest Networking After 5 event. This time, board of trade networkers attended the Port Restaurant in Pickering. Once again, attendees enjoyed our Networking Shuffle format as well as some informal networking. On May 9th Ajax-Pickering Board of Trade members were on hand at BMO Nesbitt Burns – The Follows Group for our monthly Lunch & Learn. This month’s topic was, “Finding value in your networking activities”. The complimentary seminar was facilitated by Samantha Brighton of BMO Nesbitt Burns – The Follows Group and attendees also enjoyed a pizza lunch.
